Computer Science Education in Vietnam

Fantastic post by Neil Fraser, a software engineer at Google who recently visited schools in Vietnam to look at how they were teaching computer science there. Some fantastic lessons for us here in Australia.

  1. In Vietnam, we are taught over-grade a lot. During my time, when I was in grade 5, I was taught things from grade 7. Now it climbs up to grade 11. That's amazing. That's why we have many local hard core IT talents. You should read about Naiscorp ( socbay) too, a group of students that developed local search engine and was invited to Google Inc for acquisition.
