iiNet - I used to love you

iiNet, I used to love you, in one of my Virgin Mobile rants I even wished you would enter the mobile provider space because your service can be so good, but the last 2 months have been ridiculous.

I've spent over 15 hours on the phone with you, we've had to send staff to work from home because our internet has been down for days at a time, your business support team, particularly your managers often don't call back when promised and you just don't seem to care.

  1. I've been thinking about trialling iinet for home use but after reading this I'm even more hesitant. Hmm...

  2. I've used them for my home internet for the last 5 years and overall they've been excellent for that (aside from 2 BoB modems dying which they've eventually replaced), much better than Telstra and Optus who I'd used previously.

We're using bonded DSL for our work internet which involves a different modem and a different support team which is supposed to be better but they don't seem to be able to work out what keeps causing our internet to drop out all the time.

So if you go with a single ADSL home connection you should be ok.

  3. Not sure if they are in your exchange or not, but I can recommend Internode. They also have SHDSL if you're looking for something quick. Might be worth a look.

Otherwise, a Peplink router ( with a fall back connection might make life a bit easier?
